Loews to build $4.3 billion college in Nashville

By Emily Pajot The College of Nashville will build a $4 billion, five-story college in the heart of Nashville, a project that could make the college one of the largest in the country.

Loews, the parent company of the Tennessee Titans, has already begun the process of securing funding to build the $3.4 billion college, according to a news release.

Loards is building a $3 billion, eight-story, mixed-use building on the site of the former Mid-City Bank building, near the intersection of North Seventh Street and Nashville’s Main Street.

The project includes two schools, a gymnasium and a restaurant.

The college’s goal is to create a regional hub that will bring more than 300,000 people into the Nashville region each year.

The college has also been eyeing Nashville’s downtown, where the city’s population has ballooned by about 500,000 since 2000.

The city has more than 40,000 vacant apartments, according a study from the Downtown Nashville Partnership.
